I joined the Face Paint Magazine team in late 2016. The magazine launched in web format January 2, 2017. I work closely with chief editor, Tyler Nail, and managing editor, Amber Chase. At the moment, I play two roles at FPM HQ.
My main role right now is Social Media/Marketing Manager. As the social media/marketing manager I’m creating content for our website, social media, and events—taking photographs & utilizing graphic design to fit with our brand. I work closely with Tyler to strategize FPM’s growth both online and as a neighborhood business. I run all our social media, and I assist in production of projects, events, recordings, etc.
I'm also the curator of a column called Zeitgeist, which is a multi-media, contribution-based project that challenges artists to create a work that represents or interprets a provided topic. Below is a project description:
By definition, a zeitgeist references a moment in history – that is, we look back at what happened, what people believed, and how people felt and thought, and we then define the zeitgeist of that point in time. Our Zeitgeist project challenges people of different backgrounds – gender, age, race, culture, etc – to think about the current state of things and defining it through art. Curator Maria Wurttele carefully selects a topic each month that ties into the relevant questions, politics, and discussions we are having today as a society in hopes of creating a space where art of both polarizing and similar perspectives come together as one gallery.
