On September 4, 2015, I started my first shift at a/perture cinema. It was the day after my 23rd birthday. I'd never had a job outside of the audio or theater field and was looking for a little survival job that still had some sort of dignity to it (I understand my then flawed thinking). a/perture felt like home.
I had planned to have this post go up at the end of January, yet I find myself finalizing this list the Thursday before Oscars night. Great.
As the new year begins, many of us have looked at the year we've just left behind. We've remembered the good, the bad, the weird, frustrating, happy, sad... In this nostalgia, I've also thought about all the movies I've watched in 2017.
You all know by now that I produce podcasts. But did you know I'm also in an episode of one? Taylor was kind enough to ask me to speak about wealth inequality and privilege on the latest episode of Who Knows?.
You may or may not know this, but I carry pride over being able to pick up new skills when I want to. Naturally, in 2014, I decided I would teach myself how to build a website.
